The Canal Market District (CMD) will host its first-ever Farm Fair event on Saturday, June 30 from 5:30 to 9 pm. The event serves as this year’s main fundraiser with proceeds supporting CMD’s mission to improve community access to healthy, local food and promote economic development rooted in Licking County’s history, culture, and local bounty.
People of all ages are invited to CMD’s Farm Fair event to enjoy a headlining concert by the Wayfarers as well as games, activities, and food vendors. Entry to the event is $10 per person which includes food tickets and access to the concerts, games and activities. Children under 10 are free.
Farm Fair will open at 5:30 pm with opening music by the Rocky Fork Old Time String Band, a group that originally got its start playing Tuesday evenings at the Canal Farmers’ Market in 2016. Then, The Wayfarers, a local old-time band, will headline the stage and continue the celebration until 9 pm – with dancing encouraged!
Games and activities for all ages, especially children, will be available from 5:30 to 7:30 pm, including giant jenga, cornhole, a farm-themed photo booth, “high striker,” and several old-fashioned homesteading activities and games for children organized by Bring the Farm to You. Prizes will be awarded for game winners of all ages. In addition, a 50-50 raffle is available during the event.
Food will be available for purchase on-site from local restaurants Moe’s Original BBQ, Barrel and Boar, and Heritage Catering with alcoholic beverages available for adults 21 and older. Soda will also be sold at the Market Street Soda Works, located right next to the Canal Market District.
Come one, come all to CMD’s Farm Fair to help sustain the operations and public programs CMD offers the community. The Farm Fair is made possible by First Federal Savings and Explore Licking County.
