"One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well."
This quote was written by the English writer Virginia Woolf who was born in 1882. Clay's Café was not around in 1882, but this quote describes the feeling when you leave the restaurant.
Quick history lesson. Clay's Café was originally named Cummins Ice Cream, which was started by Earl and Dorothy Cummins in 1932. In 1979, the ice cream shop was sold to the Clay family. Wanting to keep the ice cream shop, they also wanted to serve a more diverse crowd, so they started making pizza and adding other food items to their menu.

The Chamber staff is very thankful for Earl, Dorothy, and the Clay family, because they got to experience the delicious food and energetic staff of this Hebron treasure. All of the food was homemade with a wide-variety of items to choose from - Stromboli made your way, taco soup, "Sherm Fries", quesadillas, potato soup, crisp green beans, fried bologna, and so much more. It was hard to decide was to eat.

After a scrumptious lunch, the Chamber staff was able to think well when they got back to the office and sleep well when they tucked themselves into bed, because they dined well that afternoon. Virginia Woolf would have loved Clay's Café.
